ZOE LIU

THE

ART OF

BECOMING

MY STORY

My name is Zoe. I’m an environmentalist and explorer with a passion for adventure, learning, and growth. Through travelling around the world and saying yes to every opportunity, I’m one step closer to figuring out what I want to dedicate my life to. Whether it’s environmental conservation, sustainable development, fashion, or art, I’m excited to envision myself wearing the Creative Director’s hat. So, imagine this website as a creative hub for all my work, adhering to the only rule of anything goes.

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Hong Kong, moving schools every 2 years to learn the habit of stepping out of my comfort zone. I learned to quickly adapt in different environments, constantly evolve, meet new people, and discover who I aspired to be. I was lucky to be born into a multi-cultural family, with my mother speaking Bahasa Indonesian, my father speaking Cantonese, grandparents speaking Mandarin Chinese, and my two brothers speaking English with me. Our family was filled with laughter, constant noise, mirroring the busyness of the bustling city of Hong Kong. For my last two years of high school, I studied at United World College, a boarding school that unites students from all around the world to drive the mission of peace, sustainability, and diversity. I met my lifelong friends there, Azim from Uzbekistan, Gonzalo from Spain, Claudia from Bolivia, and the list goes on. When I graduated, I decided to study at Boston College in the US. My highlight from my four years in college has been the many opportunities it has given me to study abroad. For my junior year, I spent one semester in San Sebastian, Spain to practice my Spanish-speaking skills, then I participated in a climate change program, travelling to four countries— San Fransisco, Morocco, Nepal, and Ecuador. Now, I am exploring future career opportunities related to sustainability, climate justice, and public policy. In May, 2026, I will be attending Columbia University in New York for its Masters program in Environmental Science and Policy.
